Job Description

We are looking for experienced and organized House Managers to oversee the daily operations of private residences, estates, or luxury households across the UK. This role involves managing staff, coordinating household activities, and ensuring the smooth running of the property, all while maintaining the highest standards of service and discretion.

As a House Manager, you will be responsible for supervising domestic staff, managing budgets, organizing maintenance and events, and providing a welcoming and efficient household environment for the employer and their guests.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all aspects of household operations including staffing, maintenance, security, and inventory.

Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule domestic staff such as cleaners, cooks, chauffeurs, and gardeners.

Develop and maintain household budgets, monitor expenses, and report financials to the employer.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs, maintenance, and special projects.

Organize events, social gatherings, and travel arrangements for the employer and guests.

Ensure the property is well-maintained, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Manage household supplies and inventory, ensuring timely purchasing and stock control.

Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain strict privacy protocols.

Respond to emergencies and resolve household issues promptly and efficiently.

Liaise with the employer regarding preferences, schedules, and any specific requirements.

Maintain detailed records and logs related to household operations.


Requirements

Proven experience as a House Manager, Estate Manager, or similar role, preferably in luxury or large-scale households.

Strong leadership and team management skills with experience supervising domestic staff.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Financial literacy and experience managing budgets and household accounts.

Discretion, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information.

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations, and property maintenance requirements.

Valid UK driver’s license preferred (if chauffeur duties involved).

Proficiency in using household management software or digital tools is an advantage.

Willingness to relocate and eligibility for UK visa sponsorship.
