Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and qualified Swahili language teachers to join schools and educational institutions across the UK. This role is part of a visa sponsorship program aimed at attracting skilled professionals to enrich language education and promote multicultural understanding.

As a Swahili Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Swahili language instruction, fostering student engagement, and supporting cultural awareness. You will teach students at various educational levels, from beginners to advanced learners, using innovative and interactive teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver Swahili lessons that align with the UK curriculum and meet the needs of diverse student groups.

Teach speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Swahili, incorporating grammar, vocabulary, and cultural context.

Use multimedia tools and technology to enhance learning experiences.

Monitor and assess student progress regularly through tests, assignments, and oral assessments.

Provide individualized support to students who require extra help.

Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respect for cultural diversity.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and improve language programs.

Participate in professional development workshops and training sessions.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.

Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress and performance when necessary.

Comply with school policies, safeguarding regulations, and the UK education standards.


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Linguistics, African Studies, or a related field.

A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or relevant professional certification is highly preferred.

Native or near-native fluency in Swahili and strong proficiency in English.

Proven experience teaching Swahili language at any educational level (primary, secondary, or adult education).

Good understanding of language teaching methodologies and UK curriculum standards.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Eligibility to work in the UK or willingness to undergo visa sponsorship procedures.

Clean criminal background check (DBS check) as required by UK law.
