Job Description

We are seeking skilled Hospital Lab Technicians to perform diagnostic testing and analysis on patient samples in clinical laboratory settings. This role supports doctors and healthcare teams in diagnosing diseases, monitoring treatment, and ensuring patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, prepare, and analyze biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)

Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests using automated and manual methods

Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy

Record and interpret test results with high accuracy

Adhere strictly to hospital health, safety, and infection control protocols

Manage inventory of lab supplies and reagents

Work collaboratively with medical staff to support patient care

Maintain detailed documentation and comply with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, NHS guidelines)


Requirements

Education & Experience:

Diploma, HND, or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, or related healthcare field

Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or eligibility to register (highly preferred)

Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical lab environment

Skills:

Proficient in clinical laboratory techniques and use of diagnostic instruments

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in test processing and reporting

Good knowledge of infection control and laboratory safety standards

Ability to follow strict protocols and operate under pressure

Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare teams

Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

Other Requirements:

English language proficiency (IELTS 7.0+ recommended) for communication and documentation

Eligible for UK Skilled Worker visa sponsorship

Clean background check and compliance with hospital policies
